3rd Day in Rez

I feel like I’m going to be so repetitive….but like I said before, so far everyone I’ve met seems SUPER nice, and all the RAs are extremely friendly!! I’m actually eating rice pudding as I’m writing this…I’ve never ever had rice pudding before…this is my first time eating it, and I really don’t know what to think of it…I guess it’s OKAY….better than I expected, that’s for sure. 

So, foodwise… I don’t actually know what to think of the food to be quite frank. (who’s frank?). Everyone says Vanier has such an amazing dining hall…and that Totem isn’t so great. But I haven’t had a chance to see what Totem’s hall is like…. maybe I’ll think more highly of Vanier once I test out the Totem one. Haha. 

The weather out here has been absolutely FANTASTIC. It’s so sunny, and thanks to UBC being by the water, it’s not extremely hot! YAY!

Homesickness? I miss my room at home, and my house in general. BUT I do quite love it here ! 🙂 

So I have finished my little container of rice pudding….and now I have come to a conclusion…I don’t think I’m very fond of the flavour….so yeah… no more rice pudding for the next little while.. 😛 

OH AND. Tomorrow is IMAGINE DAY….and I have to wake up early…yay. and walk to some faraway place..yay. BUT I HAVE MY BLUE GEAR!! 😀

First Day at Rez.

So yesterday was move-in day(so technically YESTERDAY was the first day at rez)…and how did it go? QUITE WELL!! 😀 people on my floor seem quite nice, so that’s comforting. 🙂 They’re all full of smiles, haha. But yeah, moving in was not as overwhelming as I thought it would be. There were so many volunteers ready to bring everything inside. 😀 I still can’t believe I’m at university…it’s all super surreal..but once classes start it should hit me quite hard.. haaaa. It’s such a pain unpacking…like you have no idea how horrible it is. BUT I have managed to unpack one suitcase with clothes….and I have hung them up in my little closet/wardrobe thing. SEEE I’M MAKING PROGRESS! 😀 My shelves are looking a little bare though…..but my drawers are full of clothes as weeelll!! There’s so much to do around here that I feel like I’m accomplishing absolutely NOTHING! But yeah…overall the first day was pretty great, and like I said, all the people here are just as amazing. 😀 

One sleep away…

September 2nd?!??!…… I was blown away YESTERDAY(the first of september)…where on earth has the time gone?! Tomorrow is September 3rd…aka…move-in day…I’ve waited for the day for AGES…and now it’s just ONE DAY AWAY. I can tell that the school season is beginning because the past few mornings and nights have been quite cold. Even as I speak right now, I’m quite cold. 😦  siiiighhh.

Moving away from home….to university, definitely going to be a life.style change. I’m so excited meet everyone and just EXPERIENCE university. It’s definitely something that I need to get used to, but with time, I’m sure  the transition will be smooth. Everyone at UBC definitely seems super nice and welcoming, so that will really help.

Personally I think that move-in day is going to be a pain and slightly overwhelming….getting everything from the car, to my room. It’s gonna be one hot mess. I’m actually quite excited to get my UBCcard, which will be in my Welcome package….for ONCE in my life I don’t mind the picture that they used…mainly because I had the ‘privilege’ of taking it……and unlike passport pictures, you’re allowed to show SOME expression on your face….so it looks less like a prison mug shot. 😀

Yesterday my friend and I were thinking how weird it’s going to be that we’re not going back to high school….September 6th is when the schools around here open…and NEITHER of us will be in school on the 6th…. WEIRD STUFF. We’re growing up so darn fast, haha. I remember on the first day of school EVERY year, the nerves would kick in and I’d feel so sick from being so nervous! I sure hope that doesn’t come back for university……although it just might tomorrow, for move-in day. SO EXCITING!!!!
